The Arkas Aegean Link Regatta, organized in cooperation with EAYK, Çeşme Marina and Arkas, which is the scene of great excitement in the world of yacht racing every year it is held, was held at Çeşme Marina on August 26-28.
In the race where 38 boats participated in IRC and Support classes, Baby Dracula was the winner, Arkas Mat Sailing Team was the second, and Corendon Cheese was the third.
Organized in cooperation with EAYK (Ege Open Sea Yacht Club), Çeşme Marina and Arkas; Arkas Aegean Link Regatta, organized with the support of the Turkish Sailing Federation and Çeşme Municipality, witnessed colorful scenes at sea this year as well.
This year, 38 boats and around 300 racers participated in the race, which equipped the Çeşme and Ilıca offshore with sails. Competing in IRC A 0-1-2-3-4, IRC B and Support 1-2 categories, the teams met with the wind they missed on the Çeşme Strait, Ilıca Bay and Çeşme – Alaçatı route in a total of 5 races over 3 days.
At the end of 5 races held for 3 days, the first 3 teams in the Overall category, along with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each category, received their trophies. According to the race results, Baby Dracula was the winner, Arkas Mat Sailing Team was the second, and Corendon Cheese was the third.
The boats tied in a single pontoon by making special arrangements for the race period in Çeşme Marina created colorful visuals with beautiful frames. At the opening cocktail held at Çeşme Marina Yacht Club, the teams gathered before the race and recharged their energy.

“We are very proud to host this event, which took place for the first time after the pandemic restrictions. We would like to thank all our participants, especially our Çeşme Marina employees, all the refereeing committee, EAYK and Arkas teams, who made the organization run professionally.”
At the closing and award ceremony held at Yuzu Beach, the winners of the Overall trophy were presented with their trophies by Arkas Holding Vice Chairman Bernard Arkas and Aegean Open Sea Yacht Club President Dr. Akif Sezer.
Chief Referee Eşref Uzun made all race briefings online every morning via WhatsApp. On the first day of Arkas Aegean Link Regatta, the teams competing on the Çeşme – Alaçatı route by applying the Route-1 card, relieved their tiredness with the mini event when they finished and returned to the marina. Arkas Blue Moon was the first team to reach the finish in the specified time with the only race held on the first day.
On the second day, with the current southerly wind, 2 races were held on the Ilıca route, both long track and in-cove races. Corendon Cheese, Borusan Racing Evolution and Baby Dracula were the top three in Overall at the end of the second day. On the third day of the race, the Route – 5 card was applied with the luffing-pupa race in Çeşme Strait. Chief Referee Eşref Uzun; “The final start of the last race was nice and the steady wind was ideal. It has been an enjoyable racing season.” he stated.
